UDX was contracted by the US Marine Corps Logistics Command to develop a web-based ERP for a 40-person business unit. The ERP included a help desk, asset management, and business intelligence system. Leveraging WordPress data model and modularity, UDX was able to create and maintain the platform for the duration of the contract. This was the first-ever cloud deployment for the USMC in 2011. The ERP provided real-time reports to program managers and leaders and managed a $15m contract.

Architecture

The ERP was developed using WordPress CMS with six business plugins being developed. WP-CRM plugin was initially funded by the project and later open-sourced. All the code is stored in a dedicated code repository for the WordPress application and plugins, with every change automatically deploying to hardened VMs in AWS. All the data is stored in a MySQL database hosted in AWS with daily backups.
